On a 34.2 acre parcel of land, Governor Leroy Collins Farm Park will provide a working urban mini-farm where crops are grown and animals are raised. Children and adults can learn in a hands on environment about agricultural production from seedling to market and about the area's agricultural history. The project strives to increase the public's understanding of the vital role agriculture plays in our everyday survival, while making learning fun and preserving open space. The property contains a 13,082 square foot education center and museum, stables, a covered ring, a 6,840 square foot farmers market, pavilion, green house, observation tower, caretakers house as well as restrooms, maintenance and service courts.
